Ayurvedic Practice Abroad..A reality or a myth?

Hi, this is to call all Ayurvedic practitioners who had an oppurtunity to practice abroad or are still in abroad....genuinely practicing Ayurveda and to all those out there who want to make a career in a foreign country.....

Well, friends to be very frank...there are not many countries where you can practice Ayurveda as you practice in India; that is, you cannot implement all the panchakarma therapies or prescribe internal medicines...In this scenario....please introspect yourselves

ARE WE REALLY PRACTICING AYURVEDA?? ARE WE DOING JUSTICE TO THE SCIENCE WHICH WE BELIEVE IN...OR IS IT JUST MATTER OF MONEY..HONEY???

Well,I fully agree with what you say.First we need to learn our science with sincerity and see how it can be globally adopted. Our seers created this for all and forever.

I strongly believe in Ayurveda and agree with the fact that it's created for all and is forever...and of course it can be adopted globally.. but shouldn't we do something proactively to bring back the lost glory of the science....Probably,one of the reasons why Ayurveda is not considered very seriously in the west, is because we do not have proper documentation
Ayurveda,is not just about healthy life-style, diet, massage and shirodhara...but it has more to offer in the arena of treating serious ailments...we are failing to deliver this in the west....

Hey doc --check all the above links they say after research what Ayurveda knew since centuries.
It is funny that Ayurveda is timetested yet in India ppl are skeptical about it.

though m not that experienced to comment, wat i feel is that ther s strong need to come up with good documentations of the action of the medicines as well as the procedures ! problem s perhaps we r not able 2 make the techno - savvy more intelligent group of people understand how our science works.we the practioners itself r not giving the science its deserved due ! so once we perfect ourselves n b confident enough, people will get in to the groove by themselves !

Hi Sashi,

Its a good topic raised. The truth about Australia - il write in one of our blogs soon.
People here are more self educated about the healthy food, diet & lifestyle. Natural medicine is extensively practised here & mostly everyone has a Gym Membership or indulges in some kind of physical Cardio activity. Legaly you cant temporarily or permanently damage someone's health in the name of Ayurveda ( Truth is Doctors practising Modern medicine get away with it because they have written the law here). Ayurveda on another hand is more "Sowmya" in property but if we give a Virechana & a patient panics & isnt aware thats its a natural course of the treatment & ends up in the emergency Ward, The insurance & authorities no wonder might tackle the issue but when it comes down to Documentation - its questionable !

But for now the Ayurvedic Group in Perth is very friednly & Welcoming the science & mostly practising every aspect of Panchakarma!

Cheers !

i feel that ayurveda shold be practised in india first n full extension as there is a freedom for practise and make people believe actually what this great science is !!we need not fight or beg the other contries to permit to practise !! its their problem wheather to take the advantage of ayurveda or not ! but we indians who claim the birth right of ayurveda should do shuddha ayurveda practise and show the efficacy of it to the world !! there are so many lifes who sacrifice to bring the popularity and development of allopathy system of medicine sothat now adays doctors are enjoying the fruits !
we have done nothing to rejuvinate ayurveda and we expecting the fruits now itself !may be its sounds so folish !!! so we have to do what we have to do !thats it !!

with prayers

I agree with Ravikanth...!!!
It's a hard to digest truth that not many of Ayurveda practitioners who keep shouting about Ayurveda are practising shuddha Ayurveda in India itself. They all are behind money...honey....by any means. After all it's not only their fault. When all their friends are erning handsome of money in other industries they (we) feel like earning good money and live like doctors (!!! I hope you understand what I mean). It is not only that but also "what research or service could be done without some source of money?".
Above all, how many of us claiming to authorities of Ayurveda can explain with evidence or records, how our medicines or procedures act? Can someone explain why 'viroodha dhanya' is called as 'doshakara' while modern nutrition highly recommends the consumption? Are our post graduates really experts and professionals in their specialities and differ highly from graduates like it happens in conventional medical practitioners and specialists?
Above all there is step motherly treatment for Ayurveda in India itself while westerners are adopting it with more love. May be now it is limited to only lifestyle, diet, abhyanga, shirodhara etc only but there is a day in near future when they will do research on internal treatments/medicines of Ayurveda also. They will arrange it systematically and present it nicely.....and may claim it to be their own for patents!!!
So...it is the need of the hour that let us stop fighting about theories or tall claims of Ayurveda. Instead let us work hard in whatever the opportunities we have got and establish our feet firmly with systematic and organised pattern so that it becomes acceptable to all yet remains the treasure of India.

All The Best
